Whizz Kids Assistant

Job Description

To provide a safe, stimulating & caring environment, of the highest quality for children aged 4years-11years within the dedicated clubs. To ensure that the clubs are providing a safe and child-friendly environment for family holidays and that all elements of the family service deliver on our brochure promises. The club service operates from 0830-1700, six days a week, a free evening club one night from 7.30 - 10pm combined with some additional evening clubs & babysitting.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Customer Focus
Ensure that all aspects of the childcare manual and club specification are followed & that the service offered, matches the brochure.
Provide information to customers at the weekly Welcome Meeting (or WOW), regarding all childcare facilities available.
Ensuring that all Parents, using our facilities receive the correct Welcome Cards upon arrival.
Ensure that all pre-booked children receive the correct merchandise during their holiday.
Dealing with parents when discussing their children's needs & requirements.
Liaising with local suppliers to ensure good relations.
Solving problems that may arise within the club & with possible suppliers (ski-school).
Liaising with ski-school instructors to ensure the well being/improvements/problems of the children in your care. Take action accordingly & report to Parent/Resort Manager.
Ensuring that customer has received a CSQ and ensuring they know the importance of them.
Ensuring that all club material complies with current & correct branding guidelines.
Ensuring that all children have an excellent holiday, to encourage repeat bookings.

Communication
Keeping weekly up-date paperwork (records, accounts, reports,) and submitting to Line Manager, via the country office.
Ensuring that every child that comes into our care completes a Childcare Information Form and a photo of parent/guardian collecting the child is received.
Ensure that all paperwork & communications occur with parents if there is a accident/injury or medication administered.
Liaising with relevant person, to ensure that club is H&S compliant, and meets the company crèche/club Policy.
Ensuring that all Information Boards are fully updated and has the correct text & appearance.
Being part of weekly childcare meeting - communication with rest of resort team.
Meeting of parents on arrival day, if applic, if not then first thing on first day.

Commercial
Liaising with the Resort Reps and generating sales within resort, if sufficient space in club.
Promote family cards at the Welcome Meeting regarding local prices.
Provide weekly account sheets - info would include budget spend, local sales of evening clubs, monitors & warmers etc.
Ensure communication with Reps/Resort Admin to ensure RSV are inputted on weekly basis.
Keeping within budget in all areas of club spending e.g.: equipment, snacks & food.
Give advice & guidance to the Reps if they intend to facilitate a children's après-ski evening.
Report any marketing/branding opportunities within property/resort.
Promotion of childcare services/company image in resort to potential customers.

Personal
Providing the best possible childcare, & ensuring that all the children's basic needs are met - feeding, stimulating fun & safe play.
Constant monitoring & recording to feedback to parents at the end of the day.
Reach or exceed the CSQ return targets set by Childcare Manager at beginning of the season.
Fully knowing the childcare manual and club specification & suggesting improvements. Ensure that service.
offered, is the service advertised. Role will also include covering Pyjama/Slumber club.
Own time management, and ensure all set deadlines are met.
Resort dependant - ensuring all working rotas are maintained & adhered to ensure the adult:child ratio's are never jeopardised.
Being a flexible member of the team - may need to cover in the crèches or within other departments if numbers. require.
Ensure that you are always accompanied by the relevant qualified colleague when with the children.

Operations
Ensuring all childcare policies are complied with at all times.
Preparation of children's lunches/snacks adhering to BFH guidelines.
Adhering to club ratio's at all times - reporting any over-bookings prior to arrival.
Being fully aware of other team members roles and be willing to help out if required.
Planning a full & varied week consisting of a range of activities & informing parents of daily activities - age dependant.
Weekly rotation of all club equipment, ensuring it is displayed in an appealing way.
Regular stocktaking of equipment & ensure any faulty equipment is disposed of.
Arranging within team, ski-school pick up/drop off locations & timings.
Remaining at ski-school to ensure children have settled & reporting any problems.
On rotation, may be required to cover the airport crèche in France.
Ensuring that club is cleaned on a daily basis, & left clean & tidy for the following day.
Weekly deep clean & sterilisation of the club, prior to new arrivals.
Monitor the standard & quality of children's meals, both lunches & suppers.

Key Relationships (internal & external contacts)

Line Manager: Agreeing personal & work objectives, skills management and personal development, sharing best practice, placements, on the job training, support.
Childcare Manager: Consultation, branding, QA, customer services, MI, incidents, H&S, duty office, HR.
HR: Performance Management, recruitment, training, disciplinary procedures, payroll.
Resort Staff: Communication, covering other job roles if needed.
Property owners: Meeting at BOS & EOS to ensure smooth opening & closedown, thorough inventories of property, notification of any problems.
Suppliers: Ski-schools & instructors, & ski-hire shops.

Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Competencies

Whizz Kid Assistants need lots of Childcare experience specialising on the over 4's and have the passion and the right character to for fill this role.
CRB Clearance.
Valid first aid certificate.
Ideally candidate will have had previous childcare experience, (working in a day-care setting, within a private family, or been a member of overseas childcare team in the past).
A candidate with a flair for arts & crafts, and generally energizing the children.
A loving & caring personality who enjoys working with children, and who are looking for a new challenge overseas.
Mature & independent attitude.
Some experience of working long/unsociable hours would be an asset.
Evidence of either living away from home/ and or travelled without family.
