Restaurant supervisor

Job description

Supervision of the laying up, serving and clearing of afternoon breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner, and the standard of service in the restaurant.
Promotion of incremental sales: meal upgrades, wine upgrades and packed lunches.
Management and motivation of Hotel Hosts: Train and develop staff to maximise performance, aid retention and reduce turnover, accountable for the delivery of the performance management process in line with Company procedures, lead and inspire the team to live by the service principles, thus developing highly motivated, committed teams and ensure team receive, understand & adhere to all company policies & procedures.
Staff rotas.
Supervising the hygiene standards in the restaurant.
Control and ordering of stocks and stock takes.

Key accountabilities & responsibilities

Cleaning Duties
General cleaning duties throughout the hotel, with particular reference to the restaurant, and also public areas and bedrooms (and kitchen when required).

Food Service Duties
Setting up, serving & clearing after all meals.

Communication
Interacting with guests.

Customer Service
Being a source of information as well as providing as high standard of service.

Key skills, knowledge, experience and competencies

Independent.
5 GCSE's including Maths & English.
Customer service experience.
Some experience of working long/unsociable hours.
Extensive restaurant experience.
Staff management experience.
Team-worker.
Takes ownership of their role.
Determined to succeed.
Be flexible and adaptable.
Strives to do better as the role is an avenue for future promotion within the company (duty manager or assistant manager).
Highly organised.
Well presented.
Strong character.
Team Player.
