Q How do I apply for a job with Crystal?
A You need to fill in the online application on our website. We answer every application - and you should hear from us within 48 hours of receiving your application. Q Where do I send my CV?
A Please look at the jobs available on our vacancies tool and follow the instructions for applying online to Crystal.
Q I have just finished school/college and do not have any previous work experience, can I still apply for a role with Crystal?
A When completing the online application, 'work history' details is a mandatory section, so please follow the instructions on the 'work history' section, which will allow you to submit your application. Although please be aware that the majority of our roles within Crystal require at least 6 months relevant employment experience, so, depending on the role you wish to apply for, this may affect your application.
Q What happens next in the application process?
A Depending on the role you have applied for, after your application is reviewed and is successful you will be invited to attend an interview or an assessment centre.
Q When will I know if I was successful? What's the timescale involved?
A The time taken for reviewing applications may vary depending on the type of role you are applying for. Our aim is always to respond to applications as soon as possible and you will be contacted whatever the outcome of your application.
Q I applied to Crystal before and was unsuccessful. Can I reapply?
A You may reapply to the same role after six months have passed since your original application by completing a new application form.
Q What opportunities are there for career progression?
A As we are part of TUI Travel PLC, a leading international leisure travel Group, this means that as you grow and develop, there are many opportunities for you to progress your career with us.
Q Some of your roles are seasonal, what happens at the end of the winter and summer season?
A At Crystal we are keen to offer other opportunities within the Group. Mid-season, there will be discussions with your line manager regarding future opportunities to progress your career with us, as well as maximising your knowledge and skills.
Q I have good language skills. Will this help me get a job with Crystal?
A Language skills are always valued at Crystal. It is particularly useful for roles that are based overseas and in other customer facing roles like cabin crew.
Q What sort of Visa do I need to have?
A You need to be an EU national or have a work permit valid for both the UK and the country you are posted in.
Q Do I need a CRB check? (Nannies only)
A All candidates who are placed into a position that involves the care of children will need to undertake a CRB check. If you do not hold a current CRB, Crystal will cover the cost of the £50 fee for this.
Q How long do the seasons last?
A For winter you need to be able to commit to the entire season from late November through to late April. All employees will be expected to attend our training programme overseas, which runs mid-end of November, and is a great opportunity to find out about your future season, and meet the resort team, as well as the Operations Department. The summer season is different as our properties have a staggered opening.
Q What should I expect from the training course?
A The training course is incredibly intensive, as it has been designed to ensure that you can meet all our guests' expectations and requests. It runs over six days, and each training course varies slightly dependant on the role which you have applied for. This gives the trainers opportunity to see any areas of potential development of each individual, and assess the suitability of the teams.
