The role in brief…

As well as supervising the team and working alongside them, you will be very hands-on in providing a high quality, safe, caring and stimulating environment for children aged 6 months to 4-11 years, for six days a week in both our Pepi Penguin and Whizz Kids Clubs. As well as daytime care, evening clubs and babysitting are included. Your role is to oversee the running and organisation of the childcare clubs - to supervise and guide a team of childcare staff to ensure the children’s basic needs are mer.

You’ll need to be a naturally sociable, enthusiastic team player to instil high standards and deliver outstanding service from the childcare team as we expect you to meet/exceed customer satisfaction, sales and budget targets.

You will work split shifts and may live and work together with your team. Depending on business needs you may need to cover within other departments/resorts.

What you will be doing…

Supervising, organising and training the childcare team to deliver an outstanding childcare service to include:

Service Delivery

  • Following the childcare manual and club specification to ensure the childcare service delivered matches the brochure promises and that all childcare policies & procedures are strictly adhered to
  • Ensuring clubs plan a full and varied week of activities linked to the weekly theme & informing parents of children’s daily activities
  • Treating each child as an individual
  • Proactively solve problems and preventing their re-occurrence
  • Building rapport with parents to enable conversations in regards to service feedback
  • Family welcome introducing the childcare team and childcare services on offer
  • Correct, timely completion of all childcare paperwork to include health & safety paperwork, admin, weekly reports and accounts
  • Monitoring all working standards across all clubs to ensure high standards & consistency which also includes children’s food provisions
  • Acting as a childcare advisor within resort to resolve any complaint solutions
People
  • Ensuring that the childcare staff have the necessary skills, providing support, training and development to enable them to fulfil all parts of their job profile and in keeping with all company policies and procedures
  • Leading by example, inspiring and motivating the team to deliver their best possible performance
  • Assist with Personal Development Reviews and address any areas of strength, or any under performance issues, using action plans to monitor
  • Devise weekly staffing rota to comply with local regulations to include all brochured services
  • Assist with all aspects of country training course - including delivering of sessions
Commercial
  • Leading your team to minimise all childcare expenditure and operational costs whilst maintaining service levels as per the brochure
  • Leading your team to achieve resort sales targets through selling childcare products and services
  • Escalating any issues to the Resort Manager-Childcare which cannot be resolved which will have high customer or financial impact
  • Handling, safe keeping, banking and recording of company money, sales and expenditure and ensuring the team is following company procedures at all times

  • Internal: Resort Manager-Childcare, childcare staff, Reps, Hotels and Chalet Teams,
    Area Manager and Office Staff
  • External: Customers and Suppliers (Hoteliers, Après, Transport, Ski school)

  • Childcare (NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
  • Driving License (preferred, not essential
  • Food Hygiene
  • 1st Aid Certificate valid until May of next year
  • Satisfactory CRB Check
Experience
  • Relevant work experience at a supervisory level
